A Message from Maxine

Parents and students of Maxine Patterson School of Dance,

This is the most difficult letter I have ever had to write.

I began my career as a dance teacher in September of 1969 and had my first recital in May 1970.  I have had 55 fantastic years of the best career I could have imagined, where I was fortunate enough to do all the things I have truly loved my entire life.  However, it is time for me to retire.  This decision has been very, very difficult to make and I am extremely sad that this has to be my final answer.

To all my students from 1969-2025, a HUGE thank you, and I hope you enjoyed your classes as much as I enjoyed teaching them.  It has been a great joy to watch such a wonderful group of young people grow as dancers and as people.  In these 55 years, I have tried to teach children not only how to dance, but how to go into the world a better person.  Many thanks to all of the great parents who entrusted me to teach your kids the fine art of DANCE.  I would like to also thank all of the wonderful teachers who taught with me through these years.  I hope you know my true appreciation and love.

I sincerely hope that everyone will “Keep On Dancing.”  Please call me at 912-352-3156 if you would like to talk.  Watch my website, maxinepattersonschoolofdance.com, for any future announcements.

I truly LOVE you all.

Maxine Patterson
